My journey with music began at a young age, playing piano at church. Music has always been a passion of mine, but I never imagined myself as a teacher. That all changed when my aunt approached me with a request: she wanted me to teach my cousin how to play piano and offered to pay for the lessons. I agreed, and that’s where my teaching career began. My cousin became my first official student, and although I didn’t have a passion for teaching at first, it wasn’t long before it started to grow on me.

As I worked with more students, I began to realize that this was more than just a side hobby – it was turning into something bigger. Over time, I started building a name for myself, and after a few years of private lessons, I decided to take things to the next level. I set up a dedicated space in my home and invested in equipment to enhance the experience for my students. I transitioned from private to group lessons and even began offering virtual classes, reaching students from different states.

I also started a YouTube channel, initially as a joke, but to my surprise, it took off. I hit over 40,000 views and celebrated the big milestone of reaching 1,000 subscribers, which was huge for me at the time. I spent countless hours preparing and recording each lesson, and after years of hard work, I saw students consistently coming in. I even began hosting talent shows, and the lessons expanded to include drums, with my brother, Joel Torres, joining me to offer a wider range of instruction.

Today, we’ve had the privilege of teaching over 300 students, many of whom are now playing at their church or performing elsewhere. We continue to grow and evolve, always striving to provide the best possible experience for our students.
